After seven years, Nintendo finally released a sequel to critically acclaimed fighting game, Super Smash Bros. Melee. Featuring an expanded roster of 37 characters, Super Smash Bros. Brawl expanded upon the core concepts that made Melee so great.
The first major expansion is the story mode, now known as The Subspace Emissary. Instead of the generic story modes featured in both Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee, The Subspace Emissary has a fully fleshed out plot.
The second major expansion is in the controls. As Brawl is a Wii game, there are now 4 methods of controlling characters: players can use the Wiimote and the Nunchuk; the Wiimote turned horizontally, similar to the NES controller; the Wii Classic controller; and finally, the original Gamecube controller.
Brawl also makes use of the Wii's Wi-Fi feature, allowing 4-player online matches.
"This will be the Brawl, to end them all."
