1-Player Modes - Super Smash Bros.
Written by Space Yoshi X.
Training Mode
This is about as close to debug as you'll ever get. Your able to play against 1 computer player in any course. You can summon items on command, change game speed and camera, and mess around with your opponent's AI. Basically just used to get a feel for the game.
Classic Mode
1-Player Mode allows you to go on a little adventure, defeating opponents and advancing until you reach the end.
Stage 1:Link
Link is easy. He will stand motionless for a set amount of time depending on difficulty. Link should pose no problem
Stage 2: Yoshi Team
Now you fight 18 colorful little Yoshi's waiting to be punished. These guys are harder to hit in harder difficulties. One hit will usually send them flying off the stage easily. The Yoshi's don't really fight back either until the harder difficulties again. No matter the difficulty, you're in for an easy battle.
Stage 3: Fox
Fox is a quick little devil. He'll be a wake up call after Link and Yoshi. The trick is to hit him right after he uses Fire Fox. Fox is extremely fast and dangerous in harder difficulties. Good luck.Bonus 1: Break the Targets
A little break from fighting. The oint of the game is to use your characters unique skills to break all 10 targets in the coarse to win the level. If you fall, you lose the bonus though. If you get all 10 targets you'll get time bonuses plus 3000 points. Did I mention your timed?
Stage 4: Mario Brothers
The Mario bros. are extremely difficult on harder difficulties as your randomly chosen partner will be little help. They have a mad tendency to gang up on you.
Stage 5: Pikachu
Pikachu is suicidal in very easy as he over compensates ledges and falls to his doom. He's fast but not too much of a problem in any difficulty.
Stage 6: Giant Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong got big. Even the most powerful attacks wont send him flying until he has about 200% damage. His attacks are also much more powerful. It would be almost impossible to beat this behemoth on your own. Luckily you have 2 randomly selected partners to aid you. Try weakening him with long ranged attacks.
Bonus 2: Board the Platforms
Take a little break after DK and land on every platform around the course. Your timed again so do it quick.
Stage 7: Kirby Team
8 Kirby's, each one sporting a character's abilities. The 8th kirby will either be standard or a secret character-style. Defeat them in the order they fall to recieve the bonus, "Kirby Ranks".
Stage 8: Samus Aran
Samus is quick on her feet and packs a powerful punch. The acid thats home to her stage can help as well as hinder. Try knocking Samus into it for an easy win.Stage 9: Metal Mario
Metal Mario is extremely heavy and hard to kill. On very hard it will take up to 400% to beat him. Yoshi's flutter Kick and other rapid attack moves are key against Metal.Bonus 3: Race to the Finish
This game's point is a bit different from the other two. Time is of the essence as you have 1 minute to clear this Polygon filled obstacle course. Take no damage and recieve extra points.Stage 10: Fighting Polygon Team
Get ready for a true test of endurance against 30 light yet hard hitting source data's. There are 12 kinds of polygons, each with a moveset identical to a character. They tend to gang up and are extremely dangerous on very hard mode. Try to take 'em out in large numbers.Final Stage: The Master Hand
This is it! The final Battle! Instead of knocking the Master Hand off the stage, the point is to continually do damage to him until his HP is reduced to zero. The Master Hand will in the mean time punch you, shoot you, stab you, slap you, kick you, squish you and overall try to give you the beating of your life. The Master Hand pauses between attacks. Thats the time to strike.
Ending
After the defeat of the Master Hand, your score is added up and you can watch the end credits. afterwards you are treated to a character-specific congratulations poster for your hard work. If certain conditions were met, you may be treated to a battle with a newcomer.
