Pokémon Game Simulators

Not to be confused with ROMs/Emulators, simulators in Pokémon Gaming are applications made by non-official parties as an attempt to directly copy mechanics in a game. There are only two simulators existant at this time \(this does not include Smogon's Competitor, as development news on it is still unknown\). NetBattle and Shoddy Battle.

Popular use of these mostly concern competitive battling or just mere entertainment. Regardless of purposes of use, they have changed the concept of 'Pokémon on the Internet' prior to Wi-Fi making its appearance in Diamond and Pearl.
